DISTURBING THE PEACE
Int’l Day of Elimination of Violence towards Women
OETHA feat. Talei Wolfgramm & Rap Angel, have released Disturbing the Peace today in sync with Int’l Day of Elimination of Violence towards Women.

Deeply emotional & moving, this track is filled with lyrics told through the lens of the sista’s real-life experiences. The complicated circumstances and nature of DV is powerfully depicted in this song, demonstrating how the cycle of domestic violence often plays out in today’s modern society. Accompanied by a confronting clip we witness the tragic outcomes that were NEVER meant to be. He finds her in a pool of blood dead. It was not his intention, yet at the same time he did not seek help for his own trauma based anger issues. Thus the cycle is repeated. Her life is lost/so is his…what about the motherless child?

Told from both a personal & an Indigenous females’ perspective the aim of Disturbing the Peace is to tell real life stories while being universally relatable to all women, children and those who have experienced domestic violence. More info here.
'DON'T CRY LIKE A GIRL'
Young people pick up their behaviours from us, their parents and elders. Sometimes, without meaning to, we might say things that excuse disrespectful behaviour towards women and this sends an unhealthy message to our young people.

When we say things like "boys will be boys" or "he was having a bad day", our young people start to believe there are reasons and situations that make disrespectful behaviour acceptable. Violence against women starts with disrespect. The excuses we make let it grow. We can all help STOP IT AT THE START.
CUT ME
Cut Me is the domestic violence focussed single from Karnage N Darknis, feat. the stunning voice of Kristal West. KND share a kinship in both musical camaraderie and the social issues that plague their surroundings. It’s here where they truly shine and appear outward in their masterful hip hop delivery–speaking so confidently and drawing attention to Aboriginal land rights, social and economic tensions. Cut Me acts as a catharsis to this subject matter with Karnage and Darknis rapping in turns to illustrate the cycle of domestic violence. It’s the first single to be taken from the duo’s new album Muzik iz 4eva, released this year via CAAMA Music.
