We are thrilled to bring you the latest updates on the upcoming annual national First Nations Media Industry Conference, CONVERGE 2023, and the 2023 First Nations Media Awards. Mark your calendars for a week of inspiration and celebration from November 21st to 23rd, 2023, in the beautiful city of Canberra.

2023 First Nations Media Awards are set to take place in the vibrant heart of Canberra from November 23rd, on Ngambri/Ngunnawal land. Don't forget to Nomnate here.

Nominations are closing Sunday 15th of October at 11:59pm!

We're pleased to see people registering already. Don't forget that travel subsidies are available for FNMA members, just contact OPS Manager Donna Woods.

The program is coming together well and will be announced shortly. To give you a sneak peak, the program will delve into various aspects of media, including journalism, digital storytelling, emerging broadcast technologies, and industry best practices. We'll also address critical policy updates, with a focus on our sector's responses to the Referendum on the Voice to Parliament, which will have taken place the previous month. More to come...

indigiMOB Update
Throughout August and September FNMA partnered with the Centre for Appropriate Technology (CfAT) to support the delivery of Telstra’s Community Services Program across 14 communities within NT & WA.

The InDigiMOB team are in the process of planning their visit to 5 further communities across the APY Lands in late October/early November to deliver Telstra’s Community Services Program.

We are pleased to announce that we have recruited an InDigiMOB Project Manager who will commence with FNMA from Wednesday 4 October. Gina Rings is a proud Kokatha, Mirning woman from South Australia.
INDIGITUBE New Podcast Series

Cherbourg’s very own radio station celebrated 25 years at its Barambah Avenue headquarters on 11 September 2023.Cherbourg Radio, also known as 4UM – for ‘Us Mob’ – or by its 94.1FM frequency, has officially broadcast local music, local news and local voices from the First Nations community for a quarter of a century now, but its origins as a paragon of community media goes back even further. 3KND Kicking Off September
What a way to start September and kick off the season of spring. 3KND was a proud partner with Darebin FUSE festival and was broadcasting live for Ganbu Gulin: Lore which invited all residents, old and new, to be welcomed onto Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. Read More.
