CONVERGE: THE WEEK THAT WAS
CONVERGE 2023, hosted at the iconic Old Parliament House, stands as a milestone event that brought together over 200 delegates from across Australia, including the Torres Strait Islands. This vibrant gathering created a dynamic platform for diverse voices, blending the rich history of our nation's capital with forward-looking discussions on First Nations representation, digital inclusion, and sector resilience.
A highlight of the event was the impactful keynote speech by Stan Grant, accessible on indigiTUBE, focusing on First Nations history and the path forward.
Grant's insights resonated deeply with our media sector, providing a unique opportunity for members to engage with his reflections. The Youth Panel, featuring emerging voices, and the Indigenous Digital Leadership Forum panel, exploring Indigenous leadership in the digital landscape, were other notable moments. Concurrently, we celebrated outstanding achievements at the First Nations Media Awards, extending heartfelt congratulations to all the 2022 and 2023 winners. Your dedication continues to elevate the First Nations media landscape, and we are grateful for the collective journey we share.

Live Stream: 2023 DanceRites
On Saturday 25th November 2023, indigiTUBE partnered with The Sydney Opera House and live streamed DanceRites, Australia’s national First Nations dance competition, at Bennelong Point, a First Nations meeting place for tens of thousands of years.
There were hundreds of performers on the Forecourt for this free festival of live dance, music and community that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Since its inception in 2015, more than 1300 participants from 95 dance groups have joined this hallmark event that showcases the richness and diversity of First Nations culture. Returning after a four year hiatus, DanceRites was back for its biggest celebration yet with over 22 groups participating across two categories of ‘Cultural Dance and Song Cycle’, where groups shared their local storytelling and language, and a second optional ‘Wildcard’ category for groups to showcase their unique style.
Watch the recorded version of DanceRites 2023 here on indigiTUBE's Previous Live Stream Concerts/Events:
