Interim CEO Wally Tallis visits Media Organisations across Queensland
"I recently went on a road trip around Queensland to catch up and meet and greet some of our FNMA members and other First Nations stations.

Connecting and getting to meet the staff and see the deadly work our sector does keeps the flame burning for what we all know is an important time in the landscape of First Nations media. To actually sit and see the various operations, challenges and great work our sector does is invaluable to us at FNMA and we thank those for this opportunity

To the teams I spoke with, thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback on our sector and your needs, this is important to FNMA that we stay connected and hear from our members to best advocate and represent the views to further empower our sector

I look forward to meeting more members in the coming year and particularly at Converge. Thanks to the teams at Cherbourg, Rocky, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns FNQ/Cape, TSIMA." FNMA CEO Wally Tallis.
News Initiative Project Ends
The multimedia journalism training under the News Initiative Project comes to an end this month. Our trainee journalists are completing their assignments.

Over the past four years we trained about 40 people in media journalism. A number have gone on with jobs in the media and related industries.

We built excellent relationships with various training and media organisations including Batchelor Institute, the Community Broadcasting Training Organisation, National Radio News and the ABC.

We are now turning our attention to training in leadership and middle management roles and are currently seeking funding to set up pilot projects in these training spaces. We will let everyone know when this training comes available.
