INVASION DAY | JAN 26
Following the National Referendum in 2023, January 26 2024 will be a big event all over the country.

SYDNEY

On the 26th, a Dawn Reflection will be held in Circular Quay from 5:20am. Sydney Opera House will be lit up with Aboriginal artwork.

Sydney's 'Invasion Day Rally' kicks off at 9:30am at Belmore Park, where people will march from the park through Sydney's CBD.

The annual Yabun Festival is also on at Victoria Park from 10am to 6pm. Yabun will provide live music, market stalls, panel discussions, children's activities, and performances.

Blak Powerhouse Muesem is getting loud at the from 5pm with headline act JK-47


BOORLOO/PERTH

An Invasion Day rally is due to kick off from 12pm at Forrest Chase. Attendees are being asked to be COVID-safe.

There's also the Birak Concert which will be on from 3:30pm at Supreme Court Gardens.


NGUNNAWAL/CANBERRA

The Aboriginal Tent Embassy has organised Sovereignty Day rally and is happening at Garema Place from 9:30am.



TARNDANYA/ADELAIDE

There's a Mourning in the Morning event to be held at Elder Park from 8am.

This year's Survival Day March to start from 12:30pm at Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.


MEANJIN/BRISBANE


In Meanjin, the 'Invasion Day rally' march to Musgrave will begin at Queens Gardens from 9am

Up the coast, We Have Survived! event at Sunshine Coast City Hall from 9am to 1pm.


NAARM/MELBOURNE

Naarm's 'Invasion Day Rally will happen at Parliament House of Victoria from 10am where people will march to Flinders St Station.

Share the Spirit Festival will be on from 11:30am at Sidney Myer Music Bowl where you can livestream via IndigiTUBE

indigiTUBE is partnering with Songlines Aboriginal Music to live stream this years "Share the Sprit" concert from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne Vic on January 26th , 2024.

Share the Spirit presented by Songlines returns for another year as the state's largest and longest running Indigenous festival. This event provides a moment of togetherness as we share this time to respect the survival of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture

There are dozens of acts on the lineup, including Bart Willougby's reggae rock group No Fixed Address, roots veterans Coloured Stone, Mutti Mutti songwriter Kutcha Edwards, Wiradjuri woman and electronic producer Naretha Williams and Yorta Yorta Dja Dja Wurrung singer/songwriter Carissa Nyalu.

PAKAM

PAKAM is an association of Indigenous media producers and broadcasters in the Pilbara and Kimberley regions of Western Australia. Providing ongoing support to 12 Remote Indigenous Broadcasting Services (RIBS), and other community broadcast stations in the region, including 8 larger town-based community radio stations.
PAKAM support includes, training, licensing, local production and broadcast operations, distribution and marketing, new technologies, equipment purchase and installation, funding, technical repair and maintenance of production and community licensed services transmission equipment.
The PAKAM Radio Network provides a VAST satellite-delivered regional service (Channel 917) from the network hub in Broome WA. This service enables the sharing of news, information, special broadcast events, music and stories by all the Indigenous radio stations in the region and is retransmitted full time in 18 remote communtiies, scattered over a million square kilometres, with an audience in excess of 5,000.
